Welcome to Ahwatukeelife Books
Storytellers have been a part of our collective past throughout history and in every
culture on the globe.
Whether it was an oral history, a cautionary tale, a story to challenge
current thought or a guide to daily living, the storytellers provided needed
entertainment, education and a respite from the everyday.
And although your using a computer to view this site, we encourage
everyone to take the time to read more books.
Your reading may currently consist of Goodnight Moon and Rainbow Fish, because that's
their favorite book right now or few pages from Game of Thrones each night, becuase you
don't have time for anything else. But for a true feeling of being "away from it all"
re-read the classics from Sir Athur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes to Edgar Allan Poe's Pit and the Pendulum
or Shakespeare's startingly accurate, tragic and humorous stories that are as true to human nature now
as they were when he wrote them. Stretch your imagination and travel away from Earth in 2001,
Contact, Stranger in a Strange Land or soar off to Never Neverland in the sparkle of a starry night.
Feel the chill of a cold grey ocean as you chase after a monster whale in Moby Dick or ponder the sobering lessons of The Coming
Plaque or the Hot Zone. Books can amuse us, entertain us, teach us and scare us. If we allow ourselves to,
we can step into someone else world for just a little while and live outside ourselves.
It doesn't matter who your are or what you do, there's a book that you should read,
just go out and find it!
